Honoring a Decade of Impact: Easy Water for Everyone Co-Founders Enstooled as Development Chief and Queen in Ghana
In an unforgettable climax to Easy Water for Everyone’s 10th Anniversary celebrations, co-founders Nathan W. Levin and Linda Donald were honored with one of Ghana’s highest cultural accolades—enstoolment as Development Chief and Queen Mother of Pediatokorpe in Ada East, Greater Accra Region.
While Nathan was rightly enstooled and outdoored with the stool name “Nene Pakporm Nyukpakpa Noryami Mantse,” Linda was enstooled with the stool name “Naana Pakporm Nyukpakpa Noryami Manye”. To wit, Ada Islands Water and Health Development Chief and Queen.
This remarkable recognition wasn’t just ceremonial—it was the heartfelt expression of a grateful community, celebrating a decade of partnership, transformation, and life-saving impact through clean, safe water.
In Ghana, the title of "Development Chief or Queen Mother" is a formal honor bestowed upon distinguished individuals who have significantly contributed to local development. They act as a bridge between traditional authority and modern development initiatives. They play a key role in promoting social cohesion, advocating for community needs, and encouraging national programs and development projects.
A Celebration of Legacy and Love
The colorful durbar, held on Tuesday, May 12, 2025, brought together the Member of Parliament for Ada, Hon. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, traditional leaders, health officials, schoolchildren, and opinion leaders to pay tribute to the organization’s 10-year journey. Cultural performances, traditional music, and dancing filled the air, symbolizing the deep connection between Easy Water for Everyone and beneficiary communities.
Community leaders spoke with emotion and admiration, hailing Nathan and Linda’s unwavering commitment to providing potable water and restoring dignity to some of Ghana’s most vulnerable communities.
Water that Saves Lives
The Medical Superintendent of the Ada East District Hospital, Dr. Philip Narh, provided a powerful testimony about the critical role #EasyWater played during the Akosombo Dam spillage disaster in October 2023, which displaced thousands and sparked a cholera outbreak. He revealed that Pediatorkorpe and other island communities equipped with Easy Water filtration devices, remained safe and largely untouched by the crisis. Even more inspiring, he noted a significant decrease in diarrhea cases in all areas served by the organization. “This is not just about water,” Dr. Narh remarked. “It’s about health, hope, and resilience. Easy Water has changed the course of public health in this district.”
A Vision with a Heart
Also present at the event was Hon. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, Member of Parliament for Ada, who shared her admiration for Nathan and Linda. “They have given us more than water—they have given us love, time, and the will to push forward,” she said. She pledged her commitment to support #EasyWater in providing safe water to more communities within the constituency.
Nathan and Linda, visibly moved by the honor, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the chiefs and people of Pediatorkorpe. They reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to expanding Easy Water’s impact across Ghana. “This is an honor and way beyond our expectations, but we deserve it. This is a big surprise, and we do accept it with our whole heart. Thank you all very much,” Linda added.
